NEW PSN GROUP PROJECT: PRAVDA URBAN CULTURE CENTER01/08/2016
The reformatting of the Pravda business center into an urban culture center will begin with an international graffiti festival staged in collaboration with the Faces&Laces project.
Faces&Laces and Pravda Urban Culture Center will bring to Moscow the iconic representatives of alternative culture as part of the International Graffiti Festival taking place on the premises of the Pravda Urban Culture Center in August and September.
The graffiti intervention at the Pravda Urban Culture Center will begin on August 4, 2016, with the arrival of the world-famous artist Nemco Uno. He is a Milan-based artist, one of the most notable figures in the international street art community of the past decade, and member of the FLY, ADM and CS teams. The artist's method, in his own words, involves "drawing my own name in the most interesting and inventive way." This past spring, Nemco was featured in the Process and Progress international street art exhibition in New York. He came to Moscow with his new project, as part of which the same image is reproduced by the artist using two techniques: engraving and graffiti.
On August 11, 2016, the Pravda Urban Culture Center will host a presentation of the project by the Dutch duo Graphic Surgery. The artists will transform the urban environment by creating abstract geometrical compositions from intersecting lines. They claim to channel their inspiration from the experimental electronic music of the 1990s, works by artists of the De Stale association, which at different times included Pete Mondrian and El Lisitskiy, as well as the architecture of constructivism.
The German team of artists Moses & Taps will visit Moscow on September 10, 2016. These versatile artists who work in all formats and trends are famous, among other things, for using the revolutionary Splash technique, which involves blowing up canisters with paint. The world's first aerosol paint Montana Caps (created especially for graffiti) was named after Moses & Taps. These artists have staged personal exhibitions at galleries of world art centers from Los Angeles to Paris, Hamburg, Zürich, and Koln.
