SEVERNOE BUTOVO – ONE OF THE MOST ECO-FRIENDLY LOCATIONS IN THE SOUTHWEST ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT09/10/2017
The Severnoe Butovo district where the Grinada residential quarter is under construction has been named one of the most eco-friendly districts in Moscow’s southwest. Recent studies show that it ranks second among the “greenest” districts.
The rating is published by the real estate agency Bon Ton based on data from EcoStandard Group, which specializes in environmental monitoring and expert review. The study focused on such indicators as the area of soft landscaping, number of potentially hazardous enterprises, motor transport (availability of major thoroughfares and how busy they are), soil, air quality, and pollutant concentrations. The resultant scores were summed up and evaluated on a ten-point scale. The Severnoe Butovo district scored 7 points and ranked second, confirming its status as an eco-friendly neighborhood with the least environmental risks.
Severnoe Butovo occupies an area of 927.1 hectares and borders on the Butovo Urban Forest. The district is home to businesses without an adverse environmental footprint. According to experts, this district also has no thermal power plants and waste incinerators that are infamous for their harmful emissions.
