On July 2, the Novospassky Business Quarter played host to the Stay Hungry Backyard 2017 party.

Every year the Stay Hungry team stages a theme-based backyard party that draws a crowd looking to have a good time and sample new varieties of street food. This year's first summer Stay Hungry party was called "Friendship of the Peoples", as teams from St. Petersburg, Perm, Saratov, and Ekaterinburg flocked to the festival to show off their feats of culinary skill. Participants showcased dishes commonly found on the menus of Oriental, Western, Caucasian, Central Asian, and Russian ethnic cuisines. All in all there were more than 40 street food teams whose dishes were sampled by over a thousand Muscovites.

The festival also featured famous alcoholic brands such as Martini, Dewar’s whisky with an unusual food pairing, and Finlandia Vodka, whose team staged hourly master classes in preparing the Bloody Mary cocktail. On top of the rich culinary diversity, party guests were in for an exciting entertainment program. Novospassky guests had an opportunity to celebrate a "wedding of the peoples" featuring ethnic wedding garments or an unusual wedding dress. The ceremony followed all customs, complete with rings, oaths, champagne, and gifts for the newlyweds. The only thing that could expose it as a make-believe wedding was the absence of stamps in the young couple's passports. Party guests could also ride a mechanical bull, compete in a marksmanship competition, or jump on a trampoline.

The Novospassky team also surprised the party crowd by announcing the launch of a photo competition. The grand prize of the competition is an all-expenses-paid trip to the countryside hotel Cronwell Park Hotel Yahonty Tarusa. Participants need to post an attention-grabbing photo or video inspired by their backyard culinary adventures or simply showing a remarkable day in a life, and add the hashtag #новоспасSKY_2017 and geotag @Novospassky_. A jury will pick a winner from among open account postings to receive more than 100 likes.

The Novospassky Business Quarter regularly hosts prominent city events: the Night of Museums, the annual retro car rally, and sundry architecture and art lectures. The quarter is also home to the Russian Realist Art Institute that displays a unique collection of masterpieces.
